I like this city because it looks a lot like Amsterdam. I mean ofcourse the mentality. I spent my holidays about 25 times in the area, Ammoudara, but at least one time a day I went to Irakleio to visit my favorite bar Brocas. Too bad it doesn't excist anymore. Anyway, in future I will keep visiting Irakleio mou :-).

The hippies used to live in these old roman burrial caves around the 1960s.
The magnificent inlet of Matala features one of the best beaches in Crete. The artificial caves, carved into the north face of the coast, have been probably used as prehistoric dwellings and places of worship, while during the 1st-2nd century were used as tombs.
